Located in the Serra da Arrábida Natural Park, Portinho Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in Portugal. Its white and fine sand and the varied shades of blue of the clear waters contrast with the verdant vegetation of the Serra, forming a beautiful scenery that invites you to relax.
In this quiet bay, it is possible to practice diving to observe the marine diversity. Underwater hunting is prohibited because the seabed is also considered a nature reserve.
This site is characteristic of the excellent access to the water, because, despite the small car park, it is next to a stairway that gives access to the sea. This dive should be done at high tide because it is when you gain some depth (5mts), in summer you have to pay attention to boat traffic, and it is advisable to use a surface buoy. One of the best options for those who want to do a shore dive night, because although the bottom consists mainly of sand has some structures for the mooring of boats that harbour a lot of life: sea bream, mullet, sea bass, and other species. It is also a good option for a daytime dip in winter.
